"Aruyoi Amago" selected to be served at the Cannes Film Festival official ceremony, "CANNES GALA"
We are proud to announce that the flagship model from Amanosato Brewery, "Aruyoi Flagship Model: Amanosato," has been selected to be served at the "CANNES GALA," an official ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival, held in Cannes, France, on May 17, 2026.
About the CANNES GALA
The CANNES GALA is an official ceremony held during the Cannes Film Festival, serving as an exclusive social gathering that brings together global cultural figures across the realms of film, music, art, and business. It is a strictly invitation-only event attended by approximately 150 guests from around the world, including filmmakers, entrepreneurs, and cultural icons.
Furthermore, Japan has been selected as the "Country of Honour" at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, making it a special year for the global showcase of Japanese culture.
Why "Amanosato" was chosen
The selection process evaluated far more than just quality and technical specifications.
In an era where the evolution of AI is streamlining and automating every form of expression, the world is currently questioning what truly constitutes human value. Amidst this, our selection was based on our embodiment of "culture over civilization," reflected in:
- Our founding from scratch on previously undeveloped land
- Sake brewing that coexists with nature through organic, fertilizer-free farming and Aigamo duck rice cultivation
- The expression of terroir, emphasizing the water and rice of our local Fukuchi town
- The philosophy of "Aruyoi"—"a time to notice what already exists"
- Sake brewing built upon relationships with local government, farmers, and the community
We are honored to be recognized for these principles.
About the Sake to be served at the CANNES GALA
We plan to serve a special edition of "Amanosato" made with Yamada Nishiki rice grown using the Aigamo duck method. Further details will be shared as they become available.
Comment from Representative Nakayama
I believe that sake is more than just a luxury item; it is a culture inherited through human endeavor, something to be savored alongside the time and memories contained within it. Through this glass, we will bring Japanese culture and the potential of our local region to the world.
